The National Capital Section (NCS) represents professionals and students from the National Capital Region. This includes Ottawa and surrounding areas on the Ontario side of the Ottawa River and Gatineau on the Quebec side of the river. NCS welcomed CITE members from across the country during the last pre-pandemic CITE Annual Conference in Ottawa in June 2019.
Each year, NCS hosts technical presentations and tours, networking events, and STEM outreach activities for its members. NCS also annually collaborates with the local Carleton University student chapter on events.
The Section is proud to have won multiple awards for the hard work of volunteers who have served on the NCS Executive over the years. NCS’s STEM Outreach event with the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa won the 2019 ITE STEM Outreach Competition in the Small Event Category. The Section also won the Section Delta Award in 2015 and more recently, the Section Momentum Awards from both CITE and ITE International in 2021.
