ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of more than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries.
ITE Vancouver Island Section is affiliated with the ITE Canada District. We provide opportunities for professional development and community building within Vancouver Island and the islands between Vancouver Island and the Mainland. Section programs include technical and related presentations at lunch or dinner meetings, professional development seminars, other local meetings, and forums for the exchange of opinion, ideas, techniques, and research.
Participants at our meetings include Municipal, Regional District, and Provincial Government Planning and Engineering staff, Consultants, Architects, BC Transit and BC Ferries staff, equipment suppliers, and others interested or concerned about our field of interest. We encourage joint meetings with other organizations such as the Engineering Institute of Canada, Engineers and Geophysicists of BC, and the Canadian Institute of Planners.
