After a quickly sold out first session, ITE Canada’s training course on multimodal traffic signal operations returns for a second workshop in January 2024.
With growing interest in sustainable transportation modes and emphasis on safety, Canadian streets are increasingly incorporating features such as fully-protected phases for turning movements, bicycle phases, transit phases, and/or leading pedestrian/bicycle intervals.
This training session led by Mobycon will cover principles and practices of traffic signal operations for good multimodal level of service, sharing standard practices from the Netherlands that can be implemented within Canada’s current regulations to improve multimodal level of service.
The virtual workshop will cover a range of topics including flexibility in signal coordination, detection zone design, efficient implementation of fully-protected turning phases or Leading Pedestrian/Bicycle Intervals, the design of signal operations to maximize the effectiveness of Transit Signal Priority, and more.
