Invistec Consulting Ltd. is seeking a skilled leader for our Edmonton Transportation
Group. The successful candidate will have at least eight years of progressively responsible
experience. They will bring a portfolio with a range of transportation projects including
transportation engineering and rural / urban roadway projects working with public
and private sector clients. Through sharing examples from their career, the successful
candidate will demonstrate creativity, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.
They will have an entrepreneurial spirit and be constantly driven to achieve results.

Invistec’s history has been built on teamwork and the Transportation Manager must
have a demonstrated ability to function at many levels including as a project manager,
technical advisor, team member, supporter, and resource. The successful candidate
should have an innate ability to present technical solutions to complex problems and
gain support from clients and approving authorities.

Our ideal candidate will include or demonstrate in their cover letter and resume:

Rural transportation projects they have been involved in including roles
Urban transportation projects they have been involved in including roles
Experience in the preparation of Transportation Impact Assessments
Roadway design and construction project management experience (including
roundabout design)
Sound project management skills and the ability to adapt
Ability to function effectively in a multi-disciplinary team at various levels
Competence in balancing efforts and resources across multiple projects to
achieve outcomes and meet deadlines
Strong written and analytical skills including technical report writing, proposal
writing, and communicating complex technical issues to a broad audience
Tenacity in anticipating client needs in delivering ongoing support and service
Competent verbal communication skills including making formal and informal
presentations to a range of audiences
A full and active life including involvement in extracurricular professional, social,
and recreational activities

The Successful Candidates will Possess the Following:

An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering
Eligible for membership with APEGA
A portfolio of diverse transportation planning/engineering experience
Formal project management training or certification is an asset
Master’s degree or post graduate education in transportation is desirable
Experience in functional planning and design for urban and highway infrastructure
would be an asset

Description of the Opportunity:

Lead, mentor, support growth and development of our transportation group
Oversee a range of multi-modal transportation projects and studies including
planning, design, and implementation
Supervise the preparation of proposals in response to competitive and sole
source requests including project cost estimates, project plans, scope definition,
and communication plans
Project management including internal and external resources, project scope,
schedule, budget, and communication
Collaborate and coordinate across multiple disciplinary project teams to address
complex issues and provide creative and comprehensive outcomes
Ongoing proactive communication with clients and ensure client expectations
are met and exceeded
Review contributions from other disciplines to ensure alignment with overall
project goals
Support business development through client meetings, professional conferences,
and attendance at industry events
Maintain and build strong relationships including existing clients, prospective
clients, public sector officials, contractors, and other professionals
Enhance Invistec’s professional and corporate profile
