ITE Southern Alberta Downtown Calgary Bike Tour – June 2026
Join ITE Southern Alberta for a bike tour of some of the recently completed and in-construction wheeling facilities in Calgary’s inner city. We will visit the new wheeling lanes on 15 Avenue S, the Revitalize 8 Street SW project, the newly renovated Eau Claire Plaza, and the Ramsay-Inglewood Public Realm Improvements project. There will be stops at each location to learn more about the design, and for attendees to ask questions.
What to Expect
- The tour will begin at the corner of 15 Avenue SW and 4 Street SW.
- Please arrive 10-15 min beforehand so we can make sure we have everyone before we start moving.
- The tour will end at Village Ice Cream in Victoria Park around 5pm (registration fee will cover the cost of the ice cream!!!)

About the Tour:
- The tour will be 10 km long with multiple stops. The route is mostly along separated wheeling facilities but will include some on-street riding.
- Attendees should bring their own bike and helmet. Attendees also have the option to rent shared e-scooters/e-bikes at their own cost.
- See Route Map here. The route will change slightly depending on construction activities on 8 ST and Ramsay.

David Kowel, E.I.T. – Transportation Engineer-in-Training

David is a Transportation Engineer-in-Training at Urban Systems Ltd. His experience in transportation engineering focuses on project delivery and construction of main street, public realm, and active transportation projects. David is currently supporting the delivery of the Ramsay-Inglewood Public Realm Improvements project, acting as the site engineer on the project.
