Join Us for the 2026 ITE Southwestern Ontario Section Annual General Meeting!
We’re excited to invite you to our 2026 Annual General Meeting on Thursday, November 19, 2026, in the South Banquet Room at the Hellenic Community Centre (133 Southdale Road West) in London, Ontario. It’s going to be a fantastic evening filled with delicious food, insightful updates and presentations, valuable networking opportunities, and a look ahead at our future Section Executive for 2027.
Our keynote speaker, Liraz Fridman, PhD will present on ‘The City of Guelph’s Vizion Zero Action Plan’. Liraz is a Road Safety Supervisor with the City of Guelph.
This is a great opportunity to connect with the local section executive, as well as students and faculty from our three student chapters (Waterloo, Windsor, and Western). You will also have the chance to network with public and private sector professionals working in the transportation industry across Southwestern Ontario.
Your ticket includes a buffet dinner featuring entrées, sides, and dessert. Please note: beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are not included and will be available for purchase.
All registered attendees will receive 1.5 PDH hours for attending the AGM.

Meet our speaker!
Liraz Fridman, PhD, City of Guelph
Liraz is the Supervisor of Road Safety for the City of Guelph, where she leads initiatives that advance the City’s Vision Zero goals and create safer streets for all road users. She combines a strong research background with practical experience in road safety, using data-driven approaches to address traffic injuries and fatalities. Liraz also serves as the President of the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals (CARSP), supporting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the advancement of road safety practice across Canada.
Keynote Presentation: Vision Zero Guelph: A Proactive Approach to Road Safety
Road safety is often viewed as a transportation challenge, but achieving lasting change requires a broader commitment to equity, collaboration, and a shared culture of safety. In the City of Guelph, Vision Zero has become a framework for understanding who is most at risk on our roads, addressing systemic safety challenges, and ensuring that safe mobility is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, or mode of travel. Guided by a proactive, risk-based approach, the City is working to identify and address safety concerns before serious collisions occur while prioritizing the protection of vulnerable road users.
Grounded in data and informed by community partnerships, Guelph’s Vision Zero program is helping shift the conversation from individual responsibility to a shared responsibility for creating safer streets. Through research, evidence-based decision-making, public engagement, and continuous learning, the City is fostering a culture where road safety is embedded in everyday decisions and where the goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries is both ambitious and achievable.
Professional Development Hours (PDH):
All attendees will receive 1.5 hours of PDH.
ITE Southwestern Ontario AGM Sponsorship:
For the first time, ITE Southwestern Ontario is offering a limited number of event sponsorship opportunities for our Annual General Meeting.
This sponsorship program provides organizations (i.e., consulting firms) with the opportunity to support the local transportation community while increasing their visibility among transportation professionals, students, and industry leaders from across Southwestern Ontario.
AGM Sponsor Package – $500
The AGM Sponsor Package includes:
- Two (2) AGM tickets/registrations
- Recognition in AGM promotional materials and event communications (where and if possible)
- Recognition during the AGM program
- Permission to display one pull-up banner at the event venue
- A post-event acknowledgment on the ITE Southwestern Ontario LinkedIn page
- 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) for each attendee.

To maintain an exclusive sponsorship opportunity, only two sponsorships will initially be offered.
Registration Requirements
Organizations purchasing a sponsorship package will be required to provide the names of their two attendees at the time of registration.

- $85 – Non-Member, Non-Student
- $500 – Corporate Sponsor (includes 2 tickets)
