Emerging Transportation Leader Travel Bursary

On behalf of the Future Transportation Leaders Fund, ITE Canada is pleased to offer Travel Bursaries for Emerging Transportation Leaders. This annual bursary will provide up to five professionals with $1,000 CAD each to attend the ITE Canada Annual Conference.

The Emerging Transportation Leaders annual travel bursary is possible thanks to the generous donations of ITE members and organizations who recognize that when our future leaders overcome travel barriers they grow their professional participation, networks, skills and contributions.

Value

Each bursary is valued at $1,000 (CAD).

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply if you are:

  • An ITE member needing support to attend the ITE Canada Annual Conference who is still in the early career stages (or about ten years)
  • Have not previously received an ITE Canada bursary
  • No longer a student
  • A Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident

Each year up to five individuals will be selected from among eligible applicants and preference will be given to emerging members who demonstrate merit (e.g., participation in ITE and the transportation industry) and need (e.g., any barriers experienced that may be associated with employment, gender, race, or the intersectionality of several factors).

How to Apply

Submit by the deadline:

  • completed application form
  • a letter outlining your need for the bursary – PDF format, maximum 1 page. If you are a presenter with confirmation of acceptance of your abstract at the Annual Conference or you are participating in the conference in some other way, please indicate that in your letter.

Deadline: Applications are due March 1, 2026.

Submissions will be reviewed based on the criteria below:

  • Merit (50%)
  • Need (40%)
  • Clarity of Application (10%)
