ITE Canada Rising Stars Program

Purpose

The ITE Canada Rising Stars Program is intended to identify the next generation and new faces of the transportation profession. It recognizes members under the age of 35 who have already made an impact on the profession and ITE Canada, have demonstrated an ability to lead the next generation, and have implemented innovative techniques to solve transportation problems.

Rising Star Selection Process

Nominations for the ITE Canada Rising Star may be submitted by Sections, employers, peers, or the nominees themselves. The information and materials collected as part of the nomination package are designed to provide insight into the nominee’s technical and professional experience, leadership abilities, involvement with ITE and affiliated councils and committees, and breadth of volunteer experience.

The ITE Canada Rising Star is automatically integrated into ITE’s Young Leaders to Follow Program and eligible to win the ITE International Young Member of the Year Award.

The Award

The ITE Canada award includes recognition at the ITE Canada Annual Conference, a $1,000 travel allowance to the conference, and the opportunity to be nominated for the ITE Young Member of the Year Award.

Eligibility

Must be 35 years old or younger on January 1st of the year of the award
Must be a non-student member of ITE

How to Submit a Rising Star Nomination

Please complete the application hereby March 1. This must include:

One (1) current CV or resume that includes details outlining the nominee’s local and national ITE involvement as well as leadership and volunteer experience in other local, national, or international organizations. (PDF)
One (1) letter of recommendation from a current or past supervisor (200 words max). (PDF)
Three (3) examples of specific project/program experience, detailing the nominee’s role in each project/program. Each example does not exceed 150 words.
One (1) headshot or cropped photo with the file title containing the nominee’s name. (jpg, png, gif)

Nominations will open in the fall and are to be submitted no later than March 1st.
