ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of more than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries.
ITE Saskatchewan Section is affiliated with the ITE Canada District. We provide opportunities for professional development and community building throughout the province with the majority of members located in Regina and Saskatoon. The Section holds regular events twice a year in the spring and fall in either city or at an alternate location. The geographic separation presents challenges in coordinating events but most sessions are well attended. We also provide collaboration through hosting ITE webinars, conferences, and workshops.
The Saskatchewan Section is proud to have fostered prominent ITE leaders:
Alf Guebert, who was the founding President of the Saskatchewan Section in 1990 and served until 1994, was also ITE Canada’s President (1997-1998) and ITE International President (2008).
Bruce Belmore, who was President of the Saskatchewan Section in 2001 & 2002, was also ITE International President (2019)
The Saskatchewan Section was also very proud to show the delegates of ITE Canada our prairie charm when we hosted the Annual Conference in 2005 in Saskatoon and 2015 in Regina.
