Enhance your understanding and earn professional development credits (PDH) in this course on Transportation Equity: Developing Solutions for Social Inclusion offered by ITE Canada’s Training Committee. Course modules include the basics of transportation equity; explorations of equity and public spaces, mobility resilience, emerging mobility modes and technologies, and mobility access planning and policy; transportation disadvantage and poverty, design parameter and equity connections; and hands-on exercises.
Led by 30 Forensic Engineering, this workshop will help participants:
- Evaluate the processes used to implement equity policies and laws in contemporary transportation practice
- Identify the equity concerns associated with various tools for evaluating travel patterns and behavior
- Apply strategies and tools to increase the access to employment, education, affordable housing, and transportation for underserved communities
- Evaluate various strategies designed to increase access to emerging modes for underserved populations
- Identify the potential equity impacts of proposed transportation funding mechanisms
