We are pleased to announce the ITE Canada 2026 Annual Conference happening May 31 to June 3 in Victoria, BC on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees Nation and Xwsepsum Nation.
ITE Canada’s National Technical Program Committee invites you to share your ideas in Victoria at ITE Canada 2026 where we will explore how transportation can serve as a powerful connector of places, people and communities. This year’s conference theme, Creating Connections Through Transportation, highlights the essential role our work plays in building physical, social, and economic linkages across all scales. We welcome your insights, research, and real-world experiences that demonstrate how thoughtful planning and engineering can connect more than just destinations.
We welcome submissions from any topic. Below are some suggestions for topics of high interest:
- Emerging trends in mobility (new technology such as AI, big data, climate change, accessible design, EVs, etc.)
- Transportation planning and design, especially how unique or local design challenges are solved in practice.
- Soft skills – priority will be given to submissions that focus on public engagement for transportation projects, as well as career skills and development.
- Collaboration and Coordination, including partnerships across jurisdictions and between planners, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Inclusive and Responsive Design: planning and designing for diverse user needs—vulnerable populations, freight, school zones, and socio-demographic groups.
- Lessons from Practice: case studies and technical insights in traffic engineering, analysis, and project outcomes—both successes and challenges.
A variety of session formats will be planned and innovative formats that foster connections and/or collaboration among audience members are encouraged. The proposed presentation format is considered as part of the overall evaluation of each abstract, and abstracts with unique presentation formats may be prioritized.
The Call for Abstracts will close on Monday, November 3, 2025.
