ITE Greater Vancouver: Presentation & Mixer – 264th Street Interchange (In-Person) November 2026
ITE Greater Vancouver is delighted to announce an upcoming in-person presentation and mixer event.
About the Presentation
The 264th Street Interchange
The presentation will be led by Ava Li and Jonathan Ho from Kiewit Engineering Group.
The BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit is upgrading Highway 1 between Langley and Chilliwack via the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program. This program aims to enhance mobility, safety, and connectivity along Highway 1. As part of Phase 3A, the existing Highway 13/264th Street interchange is being replaced with British Columbia’s first Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) to enhance access to the nearby U.S. border crossing and surrounding industrial areas. The project also includes multimodal transportation improvements such as truck parking, a multi-use path, a transit interchange with park-and-ride facilities, and priority transit lanes. Construction staging was carefully planned to maintain traffic operations during daytime restricted periods, while major disruptions such as detours and lane closures were limited to off-peak periods. Innovative traffic management measures, including temporary detour ramps, highway crossovers, and signal upgrades, were implemented to maximize constructability while minimizing impacts to road users.
