ITE National Capital & APBP Ontario Chapter: Cycling Infrastructure Bike Tour

Meet at NCC Parking Lot – Nordic Circle (off of Riverside Drive, across from Billings Bridge). Location.
Cost: free

This pleasant route shows some of Ottawa’s greatest hits like the Rideau River Eastern Pathway and Ottawa Canal, with stops at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. We’ll learn about some of the new active transportation infrastructure in the City of Ottawa. Guest speakers will share some planning and design considerations. Highlights will include:

  • Corktown Footbridge
  • Various cycling improvements at UOttawa and Campus Station
  • LRT multi-use path in Stage 1
  • Rideau River Eastern Pathway (RREP)
  • Part 1 TMP AT project to develop seamless connectivity between RREP and McIlraith Bridge (planned but not yet implemented)
  • RREP underpass at Bank Street
  • Rideau River AT Bridge at Carleton University
  • Carleton U cycling improvements (roundabout and Sunnyside/Bronson intersection)
  • Canal Woods/Bronson crossing
  • Bank Street Canal Bridge improvements
  • Flora Footbridge and early NCC protected intersection elements (Fifth/QED and Clegg/Colonel By/Echo)
  • O’Connor cycling facilities and Queensway underpass

This is a joint event between the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP) and ITE National Capital.
