ITE Toronto: Finch Hydro Corridor Bike Tour – August 2026
Come tour the newest section of the Finch Hydro Corridor Multi-use Path with the City of Toronto’s Project Manager. The tour will start at the southeast corner of Birchmount Road Silver Springs Boulevard near the bike share station. It is accessible via transit or parking is available at the near by L’Amoreaux Park. The event starts at 2 pm with registration, social networking, bike rental assistance (for those renting), and safety announcement followed by the bike tour. The tour will go through L’Amoreaux Park up to the Hydro Trail starting at Birchmount Road and continue along the trail to Pharmacy Avenue, then returning in a loop back to L’Amoreaux Park. During the ride, Matthew will discuss the design and development of this section of the Hydro Corrido. The bike tour will count towards 1 hour of PDH credits.
After the tour stick around at L’Amoreaux Park for post-ride refreshments and snacks and to socialize with your fellow attendees!

atthew McAinsh has worked with Engineering & Construction Services – Local Roads as an Engineer for 4 years. He is responsible for the contract administration of the Finch Hydro Multi-Use Trail construction, which began in late 2024 and is planned to be completed in Summer 2026.
Bike Tour Logistics
Time: 2-4 pm
Start/End Location: Birchmount Road and Silver Springs Boulevard Bike Share, southeast corner of Birchmount Road Silver Springs Boulevard
Equipment
- Bring your own bike or use a bike rental (the rental bikes are not guaranteed, but there is another station at Aurora Court and Bridletowne Circle if necessary).
- Bike rentals are at your own cost. The tickets that are classed as “Bike Share” are purely to not overbook the station (which has 11 bikes available).
- Please bring your own helmet. Wearing an approved helmet is mandatory under provincial law for all individuals under the age of 18 using a non-motorized bicycle and for all individuals at the age of 16 or older using an electric bicycle.
- Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.

Tickets are limited to 30 attendees (10 for renting bikes), so register while quantities last! Registration will close at 11:30 pm on August 25th.
