Traffic Bowl Registration

2027 Traffic Bowl – Calgary, AB

This year’s Canadian District Collegiate Traffic Bowl will be held in Calgary, Alberta as part of the Joint ITE International and ITE Canada Annual Meeting happening July 25–28, 2027.

Note that since this is a joint ITE International conference, the dates are later than our usual Traffic Bowl and the timing of the event will differ from our usual format. This will also be a chance for our District winner to participate in the ITE Collegiate Traffic Bowl Grand Championship and all teams to take in the event on home soil! Want to participate?

Each Student Chapter Traffic Bowl team is represented by three students (graduate and/or undergraduate) plus an alternate, if you wish.

Ensure you read through the Traffic Bowl Rules and Instructions from ITE International at ite.org/events-meetings/traffic-bowl.

If you would like to participate, your Student Chapter must complete the Declaration of Interest form below by January 29, 2027 and the formal Team Registration (to be posted on this page) between February 19 and April 2, 2027.

Registration for Traffic Bowl does not constitute registration for the Student Leadership Summit or the Annual Conference. These events require separate paid registration to attend.

Funding for teams

In 2027, ITE Canada District will offer $15,000 total of travel support distributed to registered Traffic Bowl teams based on need and distance from the venue.

We encourage teams to also seek additional financial support for travel to the conference and Traffic Bowl through funding programs from your institution, your ITE Section, sponsorships, grants, or other creative fundraisers with your Student Chapter.

How to receive funding from ITE Canada

Only travel and accommodation expenses are eligible for Traffic Bowl funding support from ITE Canada District. The amount provided to your team will depend on the number of teams registered, your team’s need, and your actual expenses. Please follow the steps below to request and receive funding for your Traffic Bowl team from ITE Canada:

Complete the Declaration of Interest form by January 29, 2027 and indicate that you will require financial support. Your team must complete this form to be included in the priority funding allocation calculations.
Monitor email for tentative funding confirmation to be sent by February 19
Register your full team by April 2
Monitor email for final funding confirmation to be sent by April 9. This is the maximum funding your team will receive and will only be provided if you submit an expense claim with actual expenses up or exceeding the funding offered.
Submit expense claims by August 20, 2027. Keep receipts for any travel and accommodation expenses you incur. You must submit expense claims with receipts for your expenses using these Expense Claim Instructions.

Traffic Bowl Declaration of Interest Form

If your Student Chapter is considering participation in the 2027 Traffic Bowl in Calgary, AB, please complete this form by January 29. Submitting a Declaration of Interest does not mean you will be required to register a team. However, it is required to receive any funding from ITE Canada if you choose to register.
