Morgan and Steven will present on Winnipeg’s Emergency Vehicle Pre-Emption (EVP) Feasibility Study. The study quantified potential benefits and costs of a wide application of EVP in Winnipeg, including improvements in emergency response time, reduction in the number of collisions involving WFPS vehicles, costs for EVP equipment and software, and potential impacts on general traffic. The presentation will show how each factor was quantified, and how the study considered the many different traffic conditions and intersection configurations in Winnipeg in a meaningful but concise manner.
