ITE Canada is a Canadian not-for-profit corporation (registered as Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers) and a District of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE International).
Within the Canadian District are regional Sections. Each Section has its own governing body that is sanctioned by ITE Canada.
A Board of Directors, composed of members representing each of our 13 Sections across the country and our Executive Committee, oversees the ITE Canada’s strategic direction and operations.
The ITE Canada Executive Committee consists of six elected positions that are tasked with managing the District’s technical development, membership communication, supporting Sections and Chapters, and maintaining continuity within the ITE International community. The District Director is designated as our representative on the ITE International Board of Direction (IBOD).
Irini become involved with ITE during her last year in undergrad at the University of Manitoba as part of an immensely active and passionate student Chapter. Over the last 18 years she’s been involved on the local, national and international levels of the organization in the following key roles:
Irini has over 18 years of experience in the public and private sectors leading and managing large and complex transportation planning studies, including corridor studies, functional planning studies, and transportation network reviews; implementing Complete Streets in retrofit and greenfield areas, organizing and facilitating collaborative community and public engagement events, dealing with various consultants and stakeholders, and working closely with Council and City officials.
She has an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering (Major) and Business (Minor), as well as a Master of Engineering in Transportation completed at the University of Manitoba, and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) designation.
Destiny joined ITE after graduating from university. She quickly became involved in the organization by volunteering to help with registration for the ITE Canada 2015 annual conference when it was hosted in Regina, SK. Since then, she has served on the executive for the ITE-Saskatchewan Section, bringing in several firsts for her home province while president, and she has also served as a Board Member for ITE Canada. She was recognized as one of ITE’s Young Leaders to Follow and received ITE Canada’s Rising Star Award in 2024.
Destiny is a Transportation Engineer at KGS Group where she practices transportation planning, traffic engineering and operations, and stakeholder engagement. She has worked on small and large transportation projects serving both public and private sectors for the past 10 years.
She has a Bachelor’s of Applied Science degree in Environmental Systems Engineering from the University of Regina and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan.
With a career focused on transportation engineering, operations, and planning, Madhuri has extensive experience working on large transportation and transit projects. In her current role as Senior Corporate Liaison at the City of Calgary, she holds a key leadership position for the Green Line mega LRT project, managing interfaces, conflicts, and escalations between the project and City Services.
Madhuri has held numerous roles during her decade-long career at the City of Calgary. Prior to this, she worked in both public and private sectors: at the City of Regina, City of Phoenix, WSP, and ATKINS (USA).
Her involvement with ITE spans two decades, during which she has held various roles, from leading a Student Chapter to now being part of the ITE Canada Executive. She recently served as Chair of the ITE Urban Goods Movement Committee, a member of the Southern Alberta Section Executive, and an Advisory Board member for the Supply Change Conference in Calgary.
A registered Professional Engineer in Canada and the USA, Madhuri holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from JNT University.
A LeadershipITE graduate, Madhuri advocates for inclusive leadership and volunteers as a mentor to young professionals and new immigrants. In her free time, she enjoys travelling with her family. She looks forward to supporting Student Chapters in her new role as Secretary for ITE Canada.
Kelsey has been a member of ITE since attending the 2014 Canadian District Conference held in Waterloo, ON. Over the past decade she has been active with ITE as a member and as a past President of the ITE Toronto Section. She served on the Local Arrangements Committee for the ITE International Conference held in Toronto in 2017.
Kelsey is a Project Manager in the CIMA+ Mobility group out of Toronto, ON and has over ten years of experience in the private sector practicing transportation planning, traffic engineering and road safety. Prior to this, she worked as the Manager of Data Analytics at LEA Consulting.
Kelsey holds an undergraduate degree in civil engineering from the University of Waterloo and was recognized in 2023 as one of Canadian Consulting Engineer’s Top 10 Under 40. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and holds a Road Safety Professional level 1 (RSP1) designation.
Pedram has been a member of ITE since he joined and subsequently served as President of the University of Waterloo Student Chapter. Since then, he has served as:
He is the Senior Director, Mobility at CIMA+ where he practices road safety, traffic engineering, and big data. His philosophy is to utilize technology to collect, compile, and analyze transportation related data to assist road authorities in making better decisions.
Pedram hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology as well as a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Julia has a long history of involvement with ITE. She is Past President of both the ITE Toronto Section and ITE Canada and also served for five years on the ITE Transportation Planning Council Executive. She is currently ITE Canada’s Director on the ITE International Board of Direction. Julia is a graduate of the LeadershipITE program. She was a founding director of the Southwestern Ontario Chapter of WTS and volunteers for a variety of organizations in her home community.
She is President of Salvini Consulting Inc., a Kitchener-based transportation firm specializing in planning transportation systems and policy in growing cities. Julia works with municipal clients and with land developers to develop solutions that are highly functional and resilient. Her work with Salvini Consulting builds on a 25 year career based primarily in consulting focused in the areas of traffic operations, transportation planning and transit planning. She also worked with Metrolinx and taught at both Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Toronto.
Julia has degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto. She is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. She is an avid hiker and a runner and looks forward to leading the morning run at the ITE Canada conferences during her term as District Director.
