Home / About ITE Canada District / History
On April 6, 1951, the Canadian “Section” of ITE was formed and has grown into the established District that we are today. In 2026, ITE Canada celebrates our 75th anniversary, and in honour of this accomplishment, we have created a timeline to commemorate some of the District’s most noteworthy accomplishments. Here we have taken the time to scan past documents, photos, and archives to highlight some of our most proud moments in the past 75 years and present them at the 2026 Annual Conference in Victoria.

Transportation Talk is ITE Canada’s quarterly magazine that documents the District’s updates on past, current, and upcoming events throughout the year. The first publication was in 1979, and the tradition has remained alive to highlight the Sections, Student Chapters, and individual achievements of ITE Canada members across the country.
Members who serve on the Executive Committee spend countless volunteer hours committed to making ITE Canada what it is today. We acknowledge the lengthy commitment and contribution of these members along with a thank you to their employers and families for supporting them during their tenure.
