Transportation Achievement Awards recognize entities for transportation programs, projects, or initiatives, not individuals.
ITE’s Transportation Achievement Awards may be given annually for excellence in the advancement of transportation to meet human needs, by entities concerned with transportation such as governmental agencies and legislative bodies including Tribes, consulting firms, and industry, and other organizations.
Awards will be presented in the following five categories: Complete Streets, Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO), Traffic Engineering, Planning, and Safety.

Please note that the ITE Transportation Achievement Awards are bestowed by ITE International. The Canadian District nominees will be recognized at the ITE Canada Annual Conference.
One of the chosen Canadian nominees for the ITE Transportation Achievement Awards will be selected to receive the Stan Teply Outstanding Technical Project Award, the highest technical honour awarded by ITE Canada. No separate submission is required for the Stan Teply Outstanding Technical Project Award.
The submittal should be in PDF format and limited to a total of five (5) pages (including graphics) that describe the project/program/initiative and indicate how it meets the criteria for the award. The submission should assist the award committee in evaluating the project against the judging criteria. Multiple categories may be selected when entering a submission; however, entrants may only be recognized in one category. Submissions are due no later than March 1st.
ITE Canada’s Technical Liaison Committee (TLC) or its designated representatives will select the Canadian nominees for the ITE award. The award decision will be made by a committee of ITE Board members—the Transportation Achievement Awards Committee and Council chairs.
